Doreen Fletcher’s East End

For twenty years, Doreen Fletcher sent off transparencies of her pictures of London's East End to galleries, magazines and competitions. After receiving almost universal rejection, she stopped painting in 2003. But after a decade, Doreen has recently rediscovered her forgotten talent.

Spitalfields Life has posted a selection of Doreen Fletcher's paintings done between 1983 and 2003 and seen publicly for the very first time. I think they're wonderful.
