Oldest Existing Touring Caravan Restored To Original Beauty

Dr William Gordan Stables, right, in 1885 just after he designed and built the Wanderer
The Wanderer is a 30 ft caravan that was custom built in 1884 for former naval officer Dr. William Gordan Stables. Beautifully crafted from mahogany and maple wood, and painted black and gold it was designed for stylish travel. It was pulled by two horses, Captain Corn-flower and Polly Pea-blossom.

The Wanderer underwent a ten year restoration and is now on display at Cotswolds Caravan Club.

Thanks Bruce!
