Controversial Slovenian avant-garde group Laibach will be the first foreign band to perform in the secretive Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea. The group will play two concerts in Pyongyang in August in front of 2,000 people. The band’s Liberation Day Tour will coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Korean peninsula’s liberation from Japanese colonization and subsequent division into two enemy states. The concert programme will include some of Laibach's hits over their 35-year career and North Korean folk songs. The concerts will also be the subject of a documentary film scheduled for premiere in 2016.
