Good Guy Dentist Saved Eagle
Not all dentists murder animals. Some do quite the opposite.
When some idiot shot this eagle in Tofino, BC in 2001 some veterinarians suggested that the bird be euthanized. That's when Dr. Brian Andrews from Nanaimo, BC stepped in. Andrews took an exact mould and then built a wax model for dental technician Fred Leak of Victoria, to work with. The bird received a permanent prosthesis.
The eagle was named Brian after the dentist who saved his life. Brian lived for 8 more years at the North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre near Nanaimo until be passed away in 2009.
