Ben Schlappig Is An Obsessive Flyer

In the past year Ben Schlappig has flown more than 400,000 miles, enough to circumnavigate the globe 16 times, most of it in first or business class. It's been 43 weeks since he slept in a bed that wasn't in a hotel, he spends an average of six hours daily in the sky and seldom leaves the airport. Why? He is an obsessive flyer who wants to fly for free. It began when he received a promotion from United offering 5,000 extra miles for every segment flown, with a maximum of 50,000 bonus miles. He spent that summer in the air accumulating miles. He was just 14 and was hooked.
He shares his thoughts and travels on his blog One Mile at a Time.
