Greenlandic Seal Fur g-string

A naatsit was an undergarment made by the indiginous people of East Greenland from strips of seal pelt sewn together with reindeer or whale sinew. Inuit women wore them outdoors under seal-skin trousers but the naatsit was also the only apparel worn in their warm homes. Danish missionaries of the 18th and 19th century were shocked by the women's scanty dress and tried (unsuccessfully) to convince them to cover up.
