Bowling Tricks with Andy Varipapa (1948)

This 1948 film short features the game's best trick shot artist Andy Varipapa and an array of bowling tricks. A signed affidavit confirms that the shots are real and no camera tricks were employed! It takes us back to the period from 1940 to 1960, known as the golden age of bowling, when the sport was a billion-dollar industry in the United States.

Still a big deal here in Wisconsin. Every male here over the age of 19 is apparently an expert level bowler.

  2. I haven't bowled since I was a kid but my younger son took it up and he assures me he is an expert. I don't know whether he can do these tricks though.
