Behind The Door

Photographer Geoff Johnson and his sister had a parent who was a hoarder. After their mother died he and his sister returned to the family home and recreated the chaos of their childhood using their own children as stand ins.The affecting result is the Behind the Door series that explores life with a parent who is a hoarder from a child's perspective and how accumulated stuff consumed the home and deteriorated conditions for daily living, ultimately shaping who Johnson would become.
