NYC Taxis: A Day in the Life

This data visualization by Chris Whong shows the activities of a taxi on a single day based on data provided by the Taxi and Limousine Commission. See where it operated, how much money it made, and how busy it was over 24 hours.

The data include only start and end locations for each trip. The routes used are run through Google Directions API and are not necessarily those taken by the taxi.
