Is 190 Bowery the Greatest Real-Estate Coup of All Time?

Photographer, Jay Maisel, bought 190 Bowery  in 1966 for $102,000. Since then it has served as a six-story, 72-room, 35,000-square-foot single-family home for Maisel, his wife, Linda Adam Maisel, and daughter, Amanda.

Now, after almost 5 decades, Maisel has decided it is time to move out. When he bought the building the Bowery was an undesirable area inhabited by the down and out. Over the years it has become hip and gentrified. There is no doubt that it was a good investment and should fetch an eight figure price.
