Astronomy Photographer of the Year winners 2014

This year's overall winner of the Astronomy Photographer of the Year Awards was Aurora over a Glacier Lagoon by James Woodend (above), taken in Iceland's Vatnajokull National Park. Now in its sixth year, the competition features images from amateur and professional astrophotographers from around the world that play an important part in maintaining public interest around space exploration and scientific observation.
