Paris Street Then And Now

I have posted lots of then and now photos of Paris over the years. I think you'll agree that this streetscape was more appealing in the pre World War 1 era.


The photo above is of the entrance to the Passage du Caire at the corner of Rue d'Alexandrie and Rue Sainte-Foy in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris in 1914. Here's what it looks like today:

  2. Modern signage is abominable. I live in an historic town where that sort of thing is strictly regulated. Of course it's not possible to do so in a large city.
