Laika, An Alternate History
I have always found the story of little Laika, the stray dog turned astronaut, to be terribly sad. It was never expected that she would survive but wouldn't it be wonderful if she defied the odds?
Laika is a graduation film, directed by Avgousta Zourelidi while studying at the the National Film and Television School in 2010. It tells the story of the first dog in space and what may have happened to her on this momentous journey. Animated in CelAction 2D.
It just dawned on me, the first earthling in orbit was a female.
